The Resilient Heritage Strength Checker is an online diagnostic tool aimed at voluntary and community sector enterprises (VCSEs) and social enterprises based in the UK that are thinking of taking on, or have taken on, responsibility for heritage.
Development of the Resilient Heritage Strength Checker was funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, who use the reports resulting from the Checker as part of their process of helping and assessing organisations applying for funding.
Development of The Resilient Heritage Strength Checker drew on our experience with other, similar online assessment tools, particularly those dealing with assessing small business strength. The underlying calculations and scoring criteria were developed in association with a highly experienced business consultant with whom we had worked on previous projects.
Responsibility for heritage most often includes heritage assets (such as buildings) and therefore the Assets section of the Resilient Heritage Strength Checker was very important and required custom development and calculations in order to assess the relative strength of organisations or proposals with responsibility for one or multiple heritage assets.
Additionally, due to the requirements of the National Lottery Heritage Fund’s online presence, every aspect of the website needed Welsh translation.
